Cambridge Biopolymers' bioresins have been used successfully to make the sand moulds for metal castings and foundry products, with handling characteristics comparable to existing resin systems.

Using the environmentally friendly bioresin can also reduce the harmful off-gas emissions during the casting process, such as sulphurous compounds, and improve the recyclability of the moulding sand.
